Meeting the Cousins

Here is Maggie moments after her birth looking a little worried.
And this was before she met the family!!

So last night after football practice the Schultz family came over to meet their new cousin and niece. As Maggie was being passed around, Caleb (recently turned 4) got into the bag that Julie carries around with all their stuff. No one saw him except me. He pulled out a Tampax, looked to see if anyone was watching, and then opened it. Inspecting it further, he pulled it apart in two pieces and then discovered that the actual contents had a string attached and so he began swinging it around his head. I mean it was whipping around like a lasso. The look on Nick & Chelsea's faces was priceless! I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe. Oh little Maggie.....the things your cousins will teach you!!

Uh-Oh!!!

Did someone forget to tell Maggie that she is NOT a Spartan fan?????

Proud Daddy!

I think this is the first time Nicholas has ever held a baby! He has six neices and nephews and I don't think he's ever held any of them. Anyways...when I got up this morning this was the new wallpaper on my computer. Just wanted to share it with you all! More later......

Maggie Joy - Finally!!

Whew! What a day it has been! Happily, Maggie was finally born via c-section at about 12:45 am Saturday September 27, 2008!! She weighed in at 7#1.9 oz. and is 20 1/2 " long. We left the hospital about 2 am and Chelsea was resting comfortably (aren't drugs grand??) Maggie was stretching in her baby warmer and Nicholas was back and forth between Chelsea and the baby!
I am going to bed!!! Look for more photos tomorrow!

Up North & Baby Watch Cont'd

I am happy to report that we made it back safely from Ludington and we didn't miss the birth!! There is still hope for a day (or two) off work!!! Yeah!!
I also did not have to go fishing - our neighbor was very happy to accompany Tom on his salmon expedition. And they caught two nice big salmon! I wasn't too sad about not fishing since I fished with our students on Friday all day and those happy moments will linger in my memory for a good long time!
We took a ride through the woods this morning on the golf cart and there right in the middle of the woods was this yellow toilet! Weird huh?? Am I the only one who ever sees these weird things???
The other picture is of Tom by this gi-normous tree we saw on the side of the road. He wanted me to pose by it but you never know when there will be a snake in the grass or a bug or something. Besides I didn't want to look stupid standing there by a tree!!!

BABY WATCH CONTD.......

I predict that Chelsea will go into labor while we are up north this weekend. I think that if we were to stay home nothing would happen. So off we will go tomorrow with hopes that we don't miss the big event, that our cell phones will actually have a signal, that we aren't fishing in the middle of Lake Michigan when the call comes, that we don't have to drive home in the middle of the night....... But mostly I hope that I will be able to squeeze a day off work when the time comes =) Hang on Chelsea!!!

Baby Watch

The Allen family is officially on high alert baby watch!! Chelsea went to the Dr. today and was dilated to 3 cm. After some other symptoms tonight they decided, along with the Dr. that it was best to check in at St Joe's. It may or may not be a false alarm but Chelsea is excited and nervous and Nicholas brushed his teeth!!! It could be a big night! I'll be going to bed and waiting for a phone call!

The Garage Pt. 2

See??? Didn't I tell you that this would happen???? I only went to work for crying out loud!! I didn't take it out of the garage for frivolous reasons. Not only is my car not in the garage but look closely at the bottom photo and you will see it out there in back of all the other cars. Way out there. And Chelsea's car isn't even here right now!
Warning: Mama ain't happy and you know what that means!

The Garage

This is my garage. This is my car in the garage. This has never happened before. Imagine how sweet it will be in a few weeks if I don't have to scrape my windows and brush snow off my car!

Who am I kidding....the first time I leave the house someone else's car will take my place!!!!!

Football Saturday

We went to Alec's football game today. They lost bad (top picture) but it was a nice day for a game and it was fun to watch them play. Selah enjoyed her water and ring pop (middle picture). The best part was right after the game ......

Coach: Take a knee boys!

Boys all kneel on one knee.

Coach: Did you have fun today???

Boys: YES!!!

Coach: You had fun LOSING!!??!!

Boys: (Boys all hang their heads and are silent.)

I don't think that most of the boys even realized that they had just lost. They were out there having fun playing football.
I don't think the cheerleaders had a clue either. They cheered throught the entire game - no matter what was happening on the field!!!

Dumb Dog

Don't be fooled by the title for this blog......I do realize that the dog owner is really the dumb one but let me explain...... After Dixie - the dog - chewed up my sofa and some shoes we informed Nathan - the dog owner - that the dog could no longer live here. So he took the dog over to live with two of his sisters for a while and today Dixie escaped from them, led them on a long romp and ended up in a pasture full of horses. Dixie began nipping at the horses and before long the horses started kicking her. What was she thinking????? She is no match for 2,ooo pound horses!!! Dumb dog!!

Labor Day 2008

We went to Ludington for Labor Day weekend. We had great weather, great fishing, beautiful sunsets and we finally got a new bed! But the best part was NO KIDS! & NO LONG DISTANCE DRAMA!!! We're going to start leaving our phones turned off every time we go away from now on!!!!
